The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims is held annually on third Sunday of November every year around the world to remember those who died or injured from road traffic crashes and the predicament of their loved ones who must cope to the results of their deaths or wounds. It was first started by the British road crash victim charity, RoadPeace, in 1993 and then in 2005, the United Nations General Assembly adopted it. In 1995, the General Assembly of the European Federation of Road Traffic Victims (FEVR) also supported this day. In 2005, the United Nations General Assembly invited all nations to celebrate this day on third Sunday of November every year to the predicament of their loved ones who must cope to the results of their deaths or injuries. Now, World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims is held in many countries. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States, road accidents are the major cause of deaths in people around the world aged between 5 to 35 years in the United States. Is it a Public Holiday? The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims of United Nations is a global observance, and it is not a Public Holiday. Public life is only affected that time when marches or processions occurred.
