International Tiger Day is an annual day which is held on 29 July every year around the world to raises awareness about tiger conservation. It is also called Global Tiger Day. History of International Tiger Day The first International Tiger Day is held in 2010 by the Saint Petersburg Tiger Summit. The purpose of International Tiger Day is to raise awareness of the people and support for tiger protection issues and to promote a global system for conserving the natural habitats of tigers. Many popular animal organizations such as the WWF, the IFAW and the Smithsonian Institute are getting behind this event and organized many local activities.
